How Bloomful is Transforming Women’s Health

Personalized, accessible gynecological care for underserved populations

Access to gynecological care remains a significant challenge for many women

In the US, around 15M women suffer with PCOS and endometriosis, whilst a further 15M have additional gynecological conditions such as fibroids, adenomyosis, subacute infections (e.g. bacterial vaginosis), or infertility. In the UK, approximately 1 in 10 women are affected, with 1.5M women suffering from PCOS and endometriosis and another 1.5M with additional associated gynecological conditions.

Under-represented and under-insured women are disproportionately affected by gynecological issues across their lifespan, and yet are most frequently neglected. Gynecological services, including preventive screenings, contraception, and treatment for reproductive health issues, can be prohibitively expensive without adequate insurance coverage. This financial barrier discourages many women from seeking necessary care. There's a scarcity of affordable healthcare providers in many regions, especially rural areas. This lack of accessibility forces women to travel long distances for care or face long wait times for appointments. Stigmas surrounding women's reproductive health, combined with cultural barriers, can also deter women from seeking gynecological care, exacerbating health disparities.
